So The US presidential election coming up in 45 day will be pivotal for future foreign and economic policy for the entire world. It’s a bit sad for non US citizen that they cant’ vote, but at least you can pretend with this worldwide poll.

Axe Grinders win Australian election
With the the votes for the lower house still being counted, it seems a hung parliament (or one with a razor thin majority) seems likely. So into this precarious situation the axe grinders have gained significant power. A bloc of anti establishment senators have emerged along with a lower house maverick Bob Katter. Any lower house government that does form will be beholden to king-maker blocs in the lower and upper houses. So it really doesn’t matter if the parliament is notionally Labour or Liberal, the political agenda is now set by the axe grinders. As many as a third of voters have voted for a third party in this election, which really shows disenfranchisement, fortunately there have been many third party options to scoop up this voter demographic. We sow, we reap….

The UK probably only offered the independence option because they thought it would not be taken up but once international market began to get nervous the hype machine had to get into overdrive to push it back in the box.It would be fair to say neither Scotland nor the UK were completely prepared for Scotland to leave with Scotland holding the oil assets and the (war) ship building, and the UK holding the currency, the pension funds and the national health service (NHS). Sort of like winning the lottery and thinking of leaving your wife only to find out she gets half of everything anyway, and the kids aren’t ready to leave home either.
On the positive side: more powers of self rule were offered in order to sway the vote back to the ‘no independence’ camp where it had looked dangerously lacking.

Positive side 8 years and no coup.
New Zealand
Despite mounting evidence of deep corruption in New Zealand political system New Zealand returned a largely unchanged parliament,
and returned John Key formerly of the Federal Reserve Bank of the USA as its leader. The standard you walk past is the standard you accept.
Positive side: all the international based shills will now pull up stakes and fade out of the picture.
Negative side: Hone Harawira, a strong campaigner for the poor, appears to have lost his place in parliament.

Joko (Jokowi) Widodo
Just to the North of Australia lies a series of islands known as Indonesia, known to Australians as a place of booze and drug filled ‘spring break’ style getaways, and one of the worst places to get on the wrong side of the law.
Having Just had it’s election for president, only the second time a democratic election for the office was announced, for the very first time a non-elite candidate was run and apparently won with 53% of the vote.
A political new comer to the national political scene Joko Widodo (Jokowi) cut his teeth as Governor of Jakarta and previously as Mayor of Solo.
Some commentators as saying he is too close to the much more experienced and politically connected former President Megawati Sukanoputri, and may be unduly influenced by her and her circle.
His presidential election opponent Probowo Subianto ( a more typical Indonesian military strong man president archetype) has called for a recount in a largely symbolic (and slightly sour grapes) move, though the result is unlikely to change.
Joko Widodo made his fortune in the furniture export business, and had flagged infrastructure and heath as major areas for improvement for Indonesia’s 240 Million People.
Significance?
240 Million people on your doorstep have a new political direction.

You get all types coming to the free shop, for those who don’t know what a free shop is, its a place hwhere you can get things fro free, things that would otherwise be destined for landfill or charity as a business style operations. So she arrives an wants the football, the ones we had just pumped up. so we gave here the choice of the small kids one , the rubber coated one and the leather one.
She had to have the ‘far dinkum’ leather one. Well not exactly ‘fair dinkum’ it didn’t have Sherrin written on it but i digress.
But it simply had to be the leather one.

Then she talks about how wonderful Tony Abbot is.

Volunteer: Don’t you think Tony Abbott will replace the carbon tax with an emissions trading scheme that will be just as expansive?

Perfectly happy to demand the best for free, offering nothing in return, and then insults the people who she benefits from, big notes herself, and thinks this is totally acceptable behavior.
She never even thought to ask about making any kind of donation.
