Biased edits were made to the Occupy Melbourne Wikipedia page, it was discovered the IP addresses that were used for the edits came from Melbourne City Council (MCC) the same organization that harassed the OM protests during the occupation in City Square, Treasury gardens and Flagstaff gardens. The exact identity of the person who made the edits has never been discovered.
Editgate cyberwar continues:The same Occupy Melbourne Wikipedia page edits redone, but now from Biomathematics and Statistics Scotland?
A peaceful protest outside Melbourne City Council on 21 10 2012 to mark the one year anniversary of the brutal city square eviction, and the political death of MCC Mayor Robert Doyle.
I guess this story has either, not got big enough yet, and a random bystander has accidentally stepped into the fray, OR a proxy war.
Hard to be certain at this stage but I got to admit the name ‘Nutter’ is ironic if you assume that they had prior knowledge of the controversy surrounding the event.
Editor identified using handle ‘Zhou Fang’ claiming to be using the IP 18.104.22.168. confession in comments section.
Apologies to David we suspected you were a possibly a network admin rather than the user.
Do not forget.
Honestly who are these people, and what do they think they know about Occupy Melbourne from the other side of the world? Sure, there is a Melbourne in Scotland , but I’m pretty sure the Wikipedia page makes it clear this one is in Australia.

In a controversial move Melbourne’s mayor Robert Doyle has set up a special 457 visa program to purge the internet of bad publicity about himself and the Melbourne City Council he is responsible for. Here’s the interview:
OM.NET: So you have a program where you document negative publicity on the internet about yourself and Melbourne city council and have it purged from the internet. How can you justify such a thing?
Robert Doyle: Bad publicity about me is bad for Melbourne, and I want what’s good for Melbourne. If its good for me, it’s good for Melbourne, and ratepayers understand that. So we have to eliminate bad publicity.
OM.NET: A lot of people will be surprised at your use of 457 visas to employ foreigners to to work that can be done locally.
Robert Doyle: Well we did ask for local tenders, and they said it would be impossible to do here.
OM.NET: That seems hard to believe, there must be a lot of talented people here out of work that could do it.
Robert Doyle: Ah, you don’t understand the technology we are using. It’s quite amazing!
OM.NET: Sounds technical, can you explain it?
Robert Doyle: Well you know how you can copy a web page from the internet and burn it onto a blank CD or print it onto a page?
Robert Doyle: See that actually captures the information.
OM.NET: Yes that’s true.
Robert Doyle: So once you turn the computer off its on the CD or paper, not the computer, it’s captured. So then it’s just a simple task of then piling up all the CD’s and printouts and then burning them in a large open air fire. And then no more embarrassing information.
OM.NET: It can’t possibly work that way!
Robert Doyle: You sound like the local naysayers who didn’t get the bid. I need to work with positive can-do people, people who say “Yes”.
OM.NET: You can’t be serious!
Robert Doyle: I am, and I’m about to watch the video of the latest burning so I have to cut it a bit short here. It’s been a real pleasure explaining how I’m serving the people of Melbourne.
Proudly brought to you by Mock and Awe.
Proof of attacks on Occupy Melbourne Wikipedia page, attempts to change history and evidence in on-going federal court cases. More importantly the edits were made during the last week of MCC’s 2012 elections. A quick tidy up of MCC’s image just before the election. Anyone who didn’t think Melbourne City Council (MCC) was (and still is) opposed to Occupy Melbourne either has their head in the sand, is plainly lying or delusional.
Note: The edit time is in UTC (GMT), so local time would have been Sunday 21 October 2012, 4:28 PM. Who is in Melbourne City Council on a computer on a Sunday afternoon?
At about that time two separate protests were occurring in relation to Occupy Melbourne’s treatment by Melbourne City Council.
Editing history the one of the tools of the totalitarian fascist. Has anyone read George Orwell’s 1984?
On Wikipedia you either have a username or your IP address is recorded, an easy mistake for an amateur cyber vandal to make.
Where was Nick Carson on this issue, with 11,000 Wikipedia edits he simply does not care about Occupy Melbourne any more. His last edit was August 2012. Just one year after the brutal city square eviction Nick Carson had washed his hands of protecting the true history of Occupy Melbourne. Where was our ‘Media team’? Too busy trolling Facebook most likely.
So that IP block is 203.26.235.x
Do not forget.
Neal Lynch was the consultant hired by MCC to shut down the protest, he often turned up at Flagstaff gardens to oversee the MCC operations in person.
In his corporate website he glosses over the fact, so we decided to help complete the story by adding it for him.
We didn’t actually edit this page, but in this form it more accurately reflects the truth.
N.b. Neal, if you were a school teacher you might want to remember to use capital letters in your own name, on you own website. neal lynch? Neal Lynch.
How would you feel if some one edited your history? Neal Lynch? Robert Doyle?
Maybe some chickens are coming home to roost for you.
